As most ladies related to successful men say that “behind every successful man there is a woman” so as the unsuccessful believe in this too.
Up here in this case the situation is quite different .There are few speciality about rainy days such as-1. People get inclined towards eating pokadas.
2. People who can’t ever be punctual get reason delaying their work.
3. So called BFs and GFs who would be bunking tuitions for discovering parks and malls... later on can explain their parents for reaching home late. For example- they had to wait in the mall which is situated on the way to their home as it rained heavily all of a sudden.
4. Better group discussion takes place and if the topics are like bitching, scolding and cursing about rival parties then the environment is like herbal aroma of tasty masala tea.
But the following situation is quite different as compared to the above...
The ‘kaam wali bai’ (servant) always prefer that her bosses should be professionals so that they can skip half their work very well for which they get paid. Their last preference is to work at a place under the observation of a housewife (maalkin), who takes all the frustration of work load on the kaam wali bai by making her work perfectly.
If you look things in other way both maalkin and the bai are best buddies when it comes to chat about the neighbours as all kind of well absurd updated news will be with the bai which a maalkin is keen to know.
But again to mention, the situation is different, in the following story two leading characters are
Mrs Basmati, the maalkin.
Kanta bai, the kaam wali.
The special features about Kanta bai , she use to arrive sharp at 4 pm and ring the door bell as if she will get in the house through the calling bell switch, very particular about departure time from the work place, faithful, stuffed with updated news about every members of a house she use to work, always smiling ,if not ,then complaining .
And the special features about Mrs basmati , she is always keen to know what all Kanta bai know about others , even afraid of Kanta bai because if Kanta bai will leave working whose remuneration is reasonable as compared to other kaam wali bai..then it will be hard to get someone else to fill Kanta bai position as we know in current scenario its easy to trace an unemployed IT graduate but not easy to find a faithful and reasonable kaam wali.
Mrs Basmati is a house wife and her husband is an engineer, he use to leave home at morning for office but don’t have any fixed time for returning home from office as he is an Engineer. Mr Basmati and Mrs Basmati hardly get time to spend together.
JIt was around 4pm, Mrs Basmati was trying not to doze off in a fear that if she will sleep and by mistake if she will not be able to open the door when Kanta bai will arrrive then she have to herself wash utensils, have to do the dusting even have to broom and mop the floor.
As usual Kanta bai arrived at sharp 4pm and made the door bell scream. The moment Mrs. Basmati opened the door she found something different- there was no smile on Kanta’s face rather she greeted Mrs. Basmati with a wry face and made her way towards the kitchen for cleaning the utensils.
Mrs Basmati, the 'curious questioner' made her way to kitchen and showed her concern through asking kanta the reasons behind her dry n wry mood,
“What happened Kanta? You look tensed. Are you feeling unwell? Or someone said something to you!!”
“No maalkin, nothing such happened”
“then why you are looking so upset!!”,while showing concern to Kanta bai , Mrs. Basmati gestures were like-as if someone hurts Kanta bai then Mrs. Basmati suffers twice of Kanta’s suffering.
Getting irked Kanta bai -” Maalkin!! What you want to hear!!aaa ! That my husband is such an idiot, don’t do anything as if he don’t have any responsibilities!! God may know why I got married to such an irresponsible person, whole day and night he will be stinking like a pig due to consuming alcohol till his neck, wastes his money in enjoying worthless life and making my life hell!!”
She took a long breathe, “Anyway leave it maalkin, you don’t worry, I will be fine. I have taken for granted that it’s my fate. ” after screaming kanta carried on with his work wiping her tears which was streaming down on her cheeks in mean while.
Seeing such reaction of Kanta, Mrs. Basmati got bit scared and assumed that if she will ask Kanta bai anymore question then in anger she may break costly borosil glasses and plates which she was cleaning.
After washing utensils kanta bai started dusting and murmuring,
“Kanta!! What’s your problem, why you are getting so much irked and crying! If you know that your husband is not going to change then why don’t you leave him, you are earning well and don’t have to depend on him ...and take your children with you too as well for better education and future, if they will stay with such father then they will be spoilt ”
Kanta slapped her forehead with shock,”OMG!! Please don’t say such things maalkin! I will rather die instead of staying without my hubby. Forget about me, if he will have any idea that I am planning to leave him and take our kids with me then his heart will be broke, he loves us very much, he will die without us.”
Finding such change in kanta's voice and words, Mrs.Basmati said“why don’t you ask him to stop drinking and save money for future as you know- how important education for your children and with passing of day’s education is getting costly... If he would have loved you all then he wouldn't have wasted money on consuming alcohol. ”
“No no maalkin! You don’t know, he loves us a lot... I know he waste money but for future studies of our kids he saves every month and also pays LIC premium for me and our kids regularly for safe and better future. He is paying for three LIC policies for us”
Listening to Kanta bai, Mrs Basmati got surprised after knowing about the management of Kanta’s husband... she went on thinking how he would be managing to pay premium and make savings... even if Mr. Basmati is an engineer still at times he fails to pay LIC premium and at the end of the month at times it becomes hard for them to maintain minimum balance in bank account!!
“Malkin!!! What are you thinking! I tell you everything... my hubby always love to spend time with me and our kids ,in a month he takes me movie at least twice..you know ,He looks so cute when he says that he loves me, that’s the only best part of him when he is drunk, otherwise when he use to be in normal state, he never shows his love to me in a cute way. You know he is so good... but when he meets with his friends –he party and consumes alcohol... whatever... currently am angry on him but you know!! I love him so much.” Kanta smiled shyly...
“Ok maalkin; don’t mind by my question, does your hubby consume alcohol too?”
This question was unexpected for Mrs. Basmati, still she managed to answer, “aaa, umm yes he have to drink at times, in corporate meeting and sometimes with friends”
“Acha!! Hmm... Anyway maalkin, it was nice to have a talk with you, I am getting late for work, I should rush, will come for work tomorrow on timeJ ” and she left.
Locking the entrance after Kanta’s departure Mrs. Basmati sat for a while and started comparing her lifestyle with Kanta’s style..,”her husband takes her to movie ,my husband don’t have time.. She and her husband pays premium on time and saves money but we always can’t ... the only similar thing - both our husbands use to drink when they are with friends”
Mrs Basmati didn’t understand whether she should feel pity on self or should get angry on Mr Basmati or should envy Kanta bai... and finally she got a solution – she switched on the TV and started watching serials.. J
